About Pattaya

Pattaya is acclaimed as South East Asia’s favorite resort. Situated off the Gulf of Thailand, some 145 kilometers from the nation’s capital, Bangkok. It is only 1 ½ hours from the main airport Suvarnabhumi. It is a modern, cosmopolitan city with visitors from around the world. It has an estimated population of 300,000.

The climate is hot year round with an average peak temperature of 29 degrees. There are 3 tropical ‘seasons’ Hot (March to May) Rainy (June to October) and Cool (November to February)

As a resort, Pattaya has changed enormously in recent years with many world-class real estate developments having been built and many more underway. This has attracted a wealthier type of investor/visitor to the area. As the numbers of affluent visitors began to rise, so too, did the standard of leisure activities, restaurants and entertainment venues to service this new sector.

Since the arrival of the Central Department Store on Beach Road, the shopping is of international standard, though many still enjoy rummaging around the many street markets for exotic bargains.
